A Comic Tips Introduction

Over the past year, I've found myself reading more and more web-comics and I became very interested in trying out the comic medium myself. I took the idea more seriously when I joined an art group that revolved around telling stories through comics. As a result, I've started making my own comics and I want to get better at making them.

Why make Comic Tips?

I have many reasons for starting this blog. I wish to gain a better understanding of the medium and help others learn as well. In a sense we will be learning about comics together.

Another reason is to provide comic making facts in a short and simple format. Many sites have lengthy  text walls that are time consuming and daunting to read. So I will make the information more like short facts that are easy to grasp.

Is Comic Tips for me?

Comic Tips will cater to the interests of quite a few types of people. These include:

• beginners who are just learning about comics
• people who are interested in comic creation and who are interested in learning about specific parts of a comic
• those who wish to improve their comic production and brush up on their techniques
• those who are interested in seeing other people's process in creating a comic
• those who make their own comics

In the next post, we'll take a look at a little bit of history regarding comics. What were some of the first comics like? How did they turn into what we think of as comics today? These questions will all be answered next week!
